SQL query returns bad links, keyword query returns good links

description

In your tool you add <![CDATA[ before the actual SQL string in the queryText element. For some reason, doing this returns bad results. I have tried this many times against our Production index and the resuls are consistent. If I eliminate the <![CDATA[ section, then the results are correct and they match the results obtained when using a keyword query.

I have downloaded the code, made the change, and now I can use your tool reliably. Why did you add the <![CDATA[ section? I do not see anything in the MS documentation for the web service that requires this.

We also wrote a custom search application (to maintain compatibility with our previous search engine) and also use the search web service using SQL syntax. We do not use <![CDATA[ and everything works fine.
