Unable to Connect to SharePoint Search Service

description

Hey there,

I'm having trouble connecting to the sharepoint search service. When I open the application I receive the error below:

Application attempted to perform an operation not allowed by the security policy. To grant this application the required permission, contact your system administrator, or Microsoft NET Framework Configuration tool.
If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.

Once I press Continue I am prompted with the connection dialog and upon entering my SharePoint Shared Server URL (http://training) I receive the following error message:

An error occurred: Request for the permission of type 'System.Net.WebPermission, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.
My SharePoint web.config currently has Full settings and is still displaying the error.

I have been unable to find a manual or reference, to guide me. I take it that these issues normally do not arise. The application looks pretty solid and I look forward to using it. Thank you very much and I look forward to hearing back soon.

amadib,
the problem you are encountering is due to code access security settings in your environment. The permissions for the Intranet zone are not allowing web services calls to go through.
Are you launching the application from a network share (UNC path)? If so, copy the .exe local to your machine and try launching it from there.
